He Goes Before You, Consuming What Stands Against You
February 20, 2026Zechariah 4:14 (TPT)
“So he explained, ‘These branches are the two sons of oil who serve the Lord of all the earth.'”
In this vision, two olive branches stand beside a golden lampstand, feeding it with oil continuously. The angel’s answer to Zechariah: these are the sons of oil.
Joshua and Zerubbabel are named in this vision: the priest holding spiritual authority, and the governor holding civil authority. Both were anointed with oil as a sign that the Holy Spirit had set them apart for God’s purposes. Together, they represent something profound; the joining of the priestly and the kingly anointing. Truth and power. The Word and the Spirit. Together, they are unstoppable.
The oil is meant to flow.
In Psalm 92:10, the psalmist declares: “I have been anointed with fresh oil.” There is a continuous supply available to those who remain connected to the source. And Jesus made it personal in Matthew 25 through the parable of the ten virgins. The wise ones had oil in reserve. When the bridegroom arrived at midnight, they were ready. Their lamps were burning. They went in. The foolish ones had let their supply run dry. They were not wicked, they were simply unprepared.
The Bride of Christ is being called to readiness in this hour. A prepared, intentional, oil-carrying readiness. The bridegroom is coming, and the question is whether our lamps will be burning when He does.
Every believer is called to be a son or daughter of oil: filled with the Holy Spirit, flowing in both the Word and the power of God, set apart and serving the Lord of all the earth. This is not a title reserved for the platform or the pulpit. It is your inheritance as one who belongs to Him.
The oil is available. The supply is continuous. And the time to fill your lamp is now.
It is time for the Bride to be ready.
Declaration
Father, I choose to be Your child of oil. I will not run on yesterday’s anointing. Fill me with fresh oil today; with Your Word and with Your Spirit. Let truth and power flow together in my life.
I receive the priestly anointing: access to Your presence, authority in prayer, and the ministry of intercession before Your throne. I receive the kingly anointing: authority to govern in the earth, to bring Your Kingdom into every sphere I occupy.
I will not be found empty. I will keep my lamp burning. I am filled, I am ready, and I am watching.
Come, Lord Jesus. I am prepared to meet You.
In Your mighty name, Amen.
