God is Breaking False Agreement and Releasing His People into Freedom
August 15, 2026Exodus 25:8 (LSB)
“And let them make a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them.”
From Genesis to Revelation, God desires to dwell among His people. The Bible reveals God establishing a dwelling place for His presence and glory among His people.
In Eden, God walked with Adam and Eve. At Bethel, Jacob encountered God and declared, “This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven” (Genesis 28:17). Then in Exodus, God delivers Israel from slavery, establishes covenant with them, and gives Moses the plans for the Tabernacle. His purpose is beautifully expressed in one sentence: “that I may dwell among them.”
God brought Israel out of Egypt and into His presence. Deliverance prepared a people among whom He could dwell. The journey from slavery, through the blood of the Passover lamb, through the waters of the Red Sea, and toward Sinai led to the glory of Yahweh filling the Tabernacle.
Exodus 40:34 (LSB)
“Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of Yahweh filled the tabernacle.”
Then David established a tent around the presence of God. Solomon built the Temple, and the glory of Yahweh filled the house. Then Yeshua came, and John tells us that “the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us” (John 1:14). God had once again pitched His tent among humanity, this time in the Person of His Son.
Through Yeshua’s death and resurrection, the blood of Jesus gives us access into the Holy Place. Then the Holy Spirit came at Pentecost, and the dwelling place expanded. We became His Temple.
1 Peter 2:5 (LSB)
“You also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
God is building His House from living stones. Every believer becomes part of this sacred dwelling place. His presence lives within us individually, while together we are being built into a spiritual house for His glory.
And Revelation shows us where the entire story is going.
Revelation 21:3 (LSB)
“…Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them.”
Eden → Bethel → Tabernacle → David’s Tent → Temple → Yeshua → Living Stones → New Jerusalem.
One single desire runs through the entire story: God wants to dwell with His people.
The Tabernacle of Exodus became a prophetic picture within God’s unfolding plan of dwelling among humanity. The God whose glory filled the Tabernacle has chosen to make His dwelling within His people.
You are part of the House God has been building throughout the entire biblical story.
The God who said to Moses, “Let them make a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them,” now dwells within you by His Spirit.
And the building continues, living stone by living stone.
God has prepared you among His remnant for such an hour as this. He has refined and consecrated a people as vessels for His presence. He has prepared a people who know how to dwell with Him, carry His presence, walk in His ways, and steward the greater weight of His glory.
Now there is a greater manifestation of His glory coming through His prepared people. This is a season where the Lord is raising up His remnant to carry His presence and Kingdom authority into every sphere of influence, revealing Yeshua through their lives and demonstrating the reality of His Kingdom throughout the earth.
Habakkuk 2:14 (LSB)
“For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of Yahweh, As the waters cover the sea.”
The Lord has prepared the House. He has prepared His dwelling place. Now comes His glory.
He is using a consecrated remnant, prepared for such an hour as this, to carry His greater glory until the knowledge of the glory of Yahweh fills the earth as the waters cover the sea.
