“I have become a marvel to many, For You are my strong refuge.”
They wanted you gone so completely that a return would be impossible. God is making your return undeniable.
The Hebrew word translated marvel, mopheth, carries the sense of a sign, wonder, or extraordinary demonstration. The psalmist’s life had become something people looked at and recognized as evidence of the extraordinary preserving power of God.
Psalm 71 is the testimony of someone who has known sustained opposition and sustained faithfulness. His enemies spoke together against him. They watched for an opportunity to take him out, yet Yahweh remained his strong refuge.
God’s faithfulness is visible through a life He has preserved. You have borne the pressure, endured the opposition, and lived through what was intended to bring your story to an end. Now witness what Yahweh does next.
People will look and recognize that something extraordinary has taken place. The God who is your refuge in the place of trouble is the One who brings you up as a marvelous testimony of His faithfulness.

“But I will give my thanks to you, Yahweh, for you make everything right in the end. I will sing my highest praise to the God of the Highest Place!”
You have known Him as refuge. Now you will know Him in restoration. Praise Him for His righteousness. Your preservation testifies of His faithfulness. Your restoration will be a marvel. A marvel to many because Yahweh has been your strong refuge.
Stand firm and keep your eyes upon Him. Let Yahweh establish what He has purposed. He is making your return undeniable.
