God Himself Takes Responsibility for Your Restoration
September 29, 2026What if Scripture tells us exactly when to ask God for an outpouring of His Spirit?
Joel 2:23 (NKJV)
“Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the LORD your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you, The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month.”
Joel 2:28-29 (LSB)
“And it will be afterwards That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy; Your old men will dream dreams; Your young men will see visions. Even on the male slaves and female slaves I will in those days pour out My Spirit.”
“in those days” … In what days? … Joel has just spoken of the latter rain. Then comes the promise: “And it will be afterwards That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind.”
Zechariah 10:1 (NKJV)
“Ask the LORD for rain In the time of the latter rain…”
“It will be afterwards” … After what? … How will we know it is the time of the latter rain? Hosea 6:2-3 makes the prophetic connection when aligned with 2 Peter 3:8 (and Psalm 90:4).
2 Peter 3:8 (LSB)
“But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.”
Hosea 6:2-3 (TLV)
“After two days He will revive us. On the third day He will raise us up, and we will live in His presence. So let us know, let us strive to know ADONAI. Like dawn His going forth is certain. He will come to us like the rain, like the latter rain watering the earth.”
Prophetically, the “two days” present a 2,000-year pattern: He will revive us with His latter rain, pointing toward the conclusion of the Gentile age. On the third day (the third millennium), God’s people will be raised up to “live before Him” during the Kingdom Age, the Millennial Reign of Christ (Revelation 20:1-6).
We have entered the season of the latter rain. It is year 5787 on the Jewish calendar. Around 2,000 years ago, John the Baptist was a voice crying in the wilderness, preparing the way for Yeshua, whose earthly ministry was about to begin. We are standing at the threshold of approximately 2,000 years since the ministry, death, and resurrection of Yeshua. As we approach 2030 to 2033, we enter the 2,000-year window from His death and resurrection, bringing us prophetically to the “after two days” pattern of Hosea 6.
Now is the time to ask for rain. Zechariah 10:1 says, “Ask the LORD for rain In the time of the latter rain.” When we ask for His outpouring, He is faithful to pour His Spirit out on your sons, your daughters, your household. This final outpouring, though global, will be deeply personal, as we see noted in Joel 2.
These prophecies carry a present call … ask Him to pour His Spirit out on you, ask Him to pour His Spirit out on your home and family, ask Him to pour His Spirit out on this generation.
