Be Still – The Lord Will Fight for You

Exodus 14:14
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

There are several key scriptures in the Bible that speak about being still before the Lord. They reveal themes of trust, waiting, patience, quietness, and recognizing God’s sovereignty.

Psalm 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God.”

  • This is a command from God to stop striving, fighting, or worrying, and to recognize His ultimate power and authority.

Psalm 37:7
“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him.”

  • Here, stillness is tied to patient waiting and trusting God’s timing and justice, instead of becoming upset by the apparent success of the unrighteous.

Zechariah 2:13
“Be still before the Lord, all mankind, because He has roused Himself from His holy dwelling.”

  • This is a call for reverent silence and awe as we recognize that God is moving and about to act.

Lamentations 3:26
“It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”

  • Being still is an act of hope and trust. If He has spoken it, He will surely do it (Numbers 23:19).

If you have received Exodus 14:14 as a word from the Lord in this season, take heart. Justice is at hand. The call to be still is not a call to inaction, but to faith-filled rest in the One who fights for you. The Lord has roused himself from His holy dwelling and is moving on your behalf.

Numbers 23:19
“God is not human, that He should lie, nor a human being, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?”

Your breakthrough is near. Be still in Him. Stand firm in faith, for the Lord your defender is with you.
