James 4:10
“Be willing to be made low before the Lord and he will exalt you!”
Humility, surrender, and lowliness before God are the very posture that positions us for His lifting power. To be “made low” before the Lord is wholehearted dependence. It is choosing alignment with God’s Word over ambition, obedience to the Holy Spirit over appearance, and trust in God’s timing over control.
When we choose the low place, we allow pride to be exposed and corrected. We return to a posture of humility, where wisdom lives and God’s hand can rest upon us.
When we willingly humble ourselves before God, we step out of striving and into His strength. God releases exaltation at the right time, in the right way, for His glory and our good.
Declaration
I willingly humble my heart before the Lord.
Holy Spirit, teach me humility that attracts Heaven.
I lay down pride, self-reliance, and striving.
I trust God’s timing, God’s ways, and God’s promotion.
As I walk in humility, the Lord Himself lifts me up.
My life is exalted by His hand, for His glory.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
