Arise & Cross Over
January 17, 2026Isaiah 65:24 [TPT]
“I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!”
Before our needs are even uttered and placed before the feet of Jesus, God already knows the yearnings of our hearts. He knows our longings even before they find groanings or words. He is deeply attentive and involved, orchestrating answers in advance. This is the assurance of a loving Father who sees, understands, and provides with perfect care and timing.
Jesus reaffirmed this truth when He said,
Matthew 6:8 [TPT]
“…your Father already knows what you need before you ask Him.”
So when we pray, we are not informing God of our needs, for He already knows. We are aligning our hearts with His heartbeat. Prayer becomes the place where our desires are shaped by His purpose and our trust finds rest in His goodness. It is from this exchange of intimacy and alignment that Jesus then teaches us, in Matthew 6:9-13, how to pray.
Matthew 6:9 [AMP]
“Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name.”
When we begin by calling Him “Father,” we step into identity. Prayer is communion with Papa. We remind ourselves that we belong as children at the Father’s table. When Abba is our center, our lives find alignment around His glory.
Matthew 6:10 [AMP]
“Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
This is where we surrender to His will, partner with His kingdom, and invite Heaven’s purpose into our daily lives. God’s will is perfect, and communion with Abba positions us to see it revealed in and through us.
Matthew 6:11 [AMP]
“Give us this day our daily bread.”
He provides. He has prepared the day. This line centers us in trust. It reminds us that provision is received. God meets us in the daily, the ordinary, and the unseen, supplying not only what we need, but often what we did not know to ask for.
Matthew 6:12 [AMP]
“And forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven our debtors [letting go of both the wrong and the resentment].”
Release the weight that blocks the flow of grace. The twin truth of grace, found in 1 John 1:8-10, is confessing sin and receiving forgiveness. Forgiveness is transformation. As we release others, we make room for God’s grace to abound within us. Our Father already knows our faults, yet loves us fully. So we forgive freely, reflecting His heart in ours.
Matthew 6:13 [AMP]
“And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil…”
This is our confident cry of deliverance. We do not fear the storm; we call on the One who already calms it. This is our declaration: “Lord, You are my defender.” Evil has no lasting power over those who abide in the Father’s protection.
Matthew 6:13 [AMP] cont.
“… For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”
Every prayer ends where it began: in worship. God reigns. His glory remains. His promises are already in motion. “Amen” is the seal of faith declaring, It-is-done.
In Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus reveals distinct dimensions in how we approach God in prayer.
When we approach God as Father in prayer, we step into the security of being fully known and deeply loved. We come as sons and daughters who are welcomed, heard, and cared for before a single word is spoken. In this place of communion, our hearts are steadied, our steps are ordered, and our lives align with Heaven’s purpose. As we draw near, we discover that the Father has already gone before us, prepared the way, and holds every detail in His hands. Here, in His presence, we rest, trust, and abide, confident in the Father who knows our hearts.
