Your Dry Place Is About To Overflow
April 25, 2026Ephesians 5:15-16 (NKJV)
“See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
Colossians 4:5 (NKJV)
“Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.”
Even in your wilderness, invest yourself in the God-given moment before you.
The wisdom of Paul is urgency and intentionality while living under the pressures of a fallen world. In evil days, and even in wilderness seasons, wisdom says: do not withhold your full yes from God.
The Aramaic nuance carries the sense of giving your last crust of bread: a metaphor of complete surrender, wholehearted faith, and absolute commitment to what God is calling for now.
The redemption of time is the fruit from your active sowing in obedience, even if all you can give is “your last crust of bread” and it feels insignificant in the greater scheme of things. Revelation 3:8 reveals that little power (simple acts of obedience) sets before you a wide-open door.
Give even what little you have in obedience: speaking positively while facing a bleak situation, praying blessing over the person the Lord lays on your heart, acting in compassion when emotions urge frustration.
Even in uncertain terrain, pour out what remains. Give your strength. Give your obedience. Give your seed. Give your yes.
While we operate in a fallen world, redeemed time is also the fruit of walking in godly wisdom in how you conduct yourself around unbelievers. Small acts of obedience can carry eternal consequences far beyond what you see.
Ecclesiastes 11:2 (NKJV)
“Give a serving to seven, and also to eight…”
Ecclesiastes adds the principle of multiplied sowing: give to seven, even to eight. In other words, do not retreat because the season feels risky. The wilderness is where the seeds of redeemed time take root for the multiplied harvest heading your way.
Do not reserve your obedience for easier days. Entrust it to Him now. Your wilderness may be uncertain. The days may be evil. But wisdom knows how to turn present obedience into future harvest.
