Your Increase Has a Purpose
October 8, 2026Ezekiel 22:30 (NKJV)
“So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.”
On May 18, 2024, I received a prophetic warning concerning what I understood to represent widespread, indiscriminate violence, aggressive opposition pursuing and overwhelming, and great trouble across Africa, particularly South Africa. During this experience, I audibly heard the words, “Great trouble is coming to Africa and South Africa.”
Deuteronomy 1:44 (NKJV)
“And the Amorites who dwelt in that mountain came out against you and chased you as bees do, and drove you back from Seir to Hormah.”
I have continued to carry this prophetic burden in prayer, and I believe there is an urgent call for intercession in this hour.
I want to call upon intercessors to stand in the gap for Africa and South Africa, praying earnestly for God’s mercy, the preservation of lives, the protection of families and communities, and peace across the nations.
Throughout Scripture, we see the significance of intercession when trouble threatens a land. Abraham interceded for Sodom, Moses stood before Yahweh on behalf of Israel, and Daniel humbled himself in prayer for his people. In Ezekiel 22:30, Yahweh sought someone who would stand in the gap before Him on behalf of the land.
There is a responsibility entrusted to those who hear His call to prayer. Isaiah 62:6-7 speaks of watchmen appointed upon the walls who continually make mention of Yahweh and give Him no rest. There is a call to persistent, watchful intercession, to seek His face and contend in prayer for His purposes to be established.
Psalm 46:1-2 declares that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Even when the earth is shaken and the nations are in turmoil, our confidence remains firmly established in Yahweh. He is our refuge, our stronghold, and our ever-present help. We can draw near to Him with confidence, trusting in His faithfulness and remaining attentive to His leading.
Intercessors, I urge you to pray earnestly for Africa and South Africa. Pray for mercy in the midst of trouble, for peace across the nations, for the preservation of lives, and for the protection of families and communities. Pray for wisdom and righteousness among those entrusted with leadership. Pray that the plans of wickedness will be exposed and restrained, and that Yahweh’s purposes will prevail.
Habakkuk prayed, “In wrath remember mercy” (Habakkuk 3:2). Let this be our cry as we stand in the gap for the nations.
I believe there is an urgency upon this call to intercession. Let us respond with watchfulness, steadfast faith, and persistent prayer, trusting Yahweh to hear the cries of His people.
Intercessors, arise and take your place upon the wall. Stand in the gap for Africa and South Africa. Pray earnestly for mercy, protection, and peace over the land.
