Psalm 56:3 (AMP)
“When I am afraid, I will put my trust and faith in You.”
David wrote this psalm during one of the darkest and most uncertain moments of his life. He was surrounded by enemies and hunted by those who sought to destroy him. He did not deny his fear, but he chose to redirect it. Fear was not the end of his faith; it was the doorway into trust.
This verse teaches us that when fear arises, we can place it into God’s hands, and it becomes an invitation to turn fear into faith. An invitation to trust God more deeply. The same fear that tries to paralyze us becomes the push that drives us into His presence.
Trust is a decision to believe that God is greater than the danger we face, stronger than the storm we see, and faithful even when the outcome is still unseen.
When fear says, “Look at the storm,” faith says, “Look at the Savior.”
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I thank You that when fear tries to take hold, I can turn my heart toward You. You are my refuge and my strength, my ever-present help in trouble. I place my trust in You right now. Lord, I place You over my thoughts, my family, my future, and everything out of my control. Let Your peace guard my heart and mind. I bring this crushing weight before You, place my fears and worries at Your feet, and choose to trust and worship You in this moment. You, Lord, are faithful and true. Amen.
Decree
I will not fear, for my trust is in the Lord. He goes before me, stands beside me, and covers me in perfect peace.
