Victory Belongs to Those Who Endure
June 7, 2026Proverbs 9:1 (TPT)
“Wisdom has built herself a palace upon seven pillars to keep it secure.”
Wisdom’s house stands upon seven pillars because God’s wisdom is complete, stable, and perfectly sufficient. Throughout Scripture, the number seven speaks of fullness and completion. The picture Solomon presents is of a house firmly established upon a foundation lacking nothing. Every area of life finds its support in Christ, in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.
Wisdom is one of the great themes woven throughout Scripture. Wisdom is the ability to correctly apply knowledge, understanding, and revelation in every season of life. Wisdom builds. Wisdom establishes. Wisdom preserves.
The Christian life was never designed to be sustained by information alone. God desires a mature people who can navigate life’s complexities, walk through changing seasons, steward His promises well, and remain firmly established in Him. Wisdom is the foundational pillar of a mature Christian life, enabling believers to correctly apply truth, navigate life’s complexities, build lasting stability, and remain fully aligned with Christ, who is wisdom itself.
As we build our lives upon Him, wisdom becomes the framework through which every area of life is strengthened and established.
1. Wisdom Is The Principal Thing
Proverbs 4:7 (NKJV)
“Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.”
Scripture places wisdom at the forefront. It is described as the principal thing because wisdom governs everything else. Knowledge may tell us what is true. Revelation may show us what God is saying. Wisdom teaches us how to walk it out.
Many believers pursue greater revelation, greater gifting, and greater understanding, yet wisdom is what enables us to steward those things correctly. Wisdom protects us from unnecessary mistakes and helps us discern the Lord’s timing, methods, and purposes.
The Lord desires His people to be a people of wisdom. He gives us spiritual blueprints, wisdom, knowledge, and discernment for every assignment He places before us.
2. Wisdom Builds Stable Lives
Matthew 7:24-25 (TPT)
“Everyone who hears my teaching and applies it to his life can be compared to a wise man who built his house on an unshakable foundation. When the rains fell and the flood came, with fierce winds beating upon his house, it stood firm because of its strong foundation.”
Wisdom builds lives that can withstand storms.
The difference between the wise builder and the foolish builder was not hearing truth. Both heard the words of Jesus. The difference was application. Wisdom takes what God has said and builds upon it.
Storms come to every life. Seasons change. Circumstances shift. Yet wisdom creates stability because it anchors us in obedience. When our lives are built upon God’s Word, we remain established even when external conditions become difficult.
God is the Master Builder. He lays strong foundations before He releases greater responsibility. A life established in wisdom will continue bearing fruit through every season.
3. Wisdom Balances Truth
Ecclesiastes 7:18 (NKJV)
“For he who fears God will escape them all.”
Wisdom helps us navigate the tensions of life.
Faith and stewardship. Grace and truth. Boldness and humility. Strength and gentleness. Generosity and stewardship. Unity and discernment. Wisdom understands how to apply each according to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Many problems arise when one truth is elevated above every other truth. Wisdom keeps us balanced and aligned with the whole counsel of God.
The Holy Spirit reveals spiritual realities and gives us understanding for how to walk them out. Through His wisdom, we learn how to discern times, seasons, opportunities, and assignments.
Wisdom keeps us from extremes and teaches us to walk in maturity.
4. Jesus Modeled Perfect Wisdom
Luke 2:52 (NKJV)
“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.”
Jesus is wisdom revealed.
Though He is the Wisdom of God, Scripture tells us that He increased in wisdom. Throughout His earthly ministry, Jesus demonstrated perfect judgment, perfect timing, and perfect obedience to the Father.
He knew when to speak and when to remain silent. He knew when to confront and when to show compassion. He knew when to minister publicly and when to withdraw privately to pray.
Every aspect of His life reflected wisdom in operation.
As we abide in Christ, His wisdom begins to shape our thinking, our decisions, and our responses. The more closely we walk with Him, the more His wisdom becomes evident in our lives.
5. Wisdom Must Be Sought
James 1:5 (NIV)
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
Wisdom is available, but it must be pursued.
God delights in giving wisdom to His children. He invites us to ask. He invites us to seek. He invites us to draw near.
Wisdom is cultivated through prayer, communion, study of the Word, obedience, and relationship with the Holy Spirit. As we walk closely with Him, He tutors us through His Word and reveals the hidden treasures of His wisdom.
Every challenge becomes an opportunity to seek His counsel. Every decision becomes an opportunity to lean upon His understanding rather than our own.
The wise believer learns to ask, “Lord, what are You saying, and how should I respond?”
All True Wisdom Is Ultimately Found In Christ
Colossians 2:3 (TPT)
“For our spiritual wealth is in him, like hidden treasure waiting to be discovered—heaven’s wisdom and endless riches of revelation knowledge.”
The goal of wisdom is not merely better decision-making. The goal of wisdom is deeper alignment with Jesus. As we grow in wisdom, we grow in stability. As we grow in wisdom, we grow in maturity. As we grow in wisdom, we learn to navigate life’s complexities with confidence because we are walking in step with the Holy Spirit.
The Lord is building a people whose lives are established upon His wisdom. A people who are steady in every season. A people who carry discernment, maturity, and spiritual understanding. A people who reflect Christ.
As we continue to seek Him, we discover that the One who calls us to wisdom is Himself the source of wisdom. In Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. In Him we find the understanding, stability, discernment, and guidance needed for every season of life. As His wisdom forms us, our lives become like Wisdom’s house: established, secure, fruitful, and able to withstand every storm.
