The River of God Is Being Released
September 11, 2026A Testimony from Worship at Ascend Church
I was present during this service when, in the midst of worship, the Lord allowed me to see what I can only describe as an open heaven above the right side of the stage.
Watch the service above.
The opening extended across toward the drum set and outward over the right side of the front of the auditorium. It appeared radiant, alive with light, and through it I could see into what seemed to be the heavenly realm.
From this opening descended many ministering spirits. They moved throughout the congregation, coming alongside people and ministering among them.
They appeared in different forms and statures. One in particular stood out to me because of his extraordinary size and strength. He was powerfully built and was ministering alongside someone in the auditorium. Others were tall and slender, some were of more ordinary stature, yet all of them carried the same radiant quality. They seemed illuminated from within, glowing with a brilliant golden light.
What struck me deeply was that each of these ministering spirits appeared connected to the open heaven above by what looked like a cord of living golden light. These cords shimmered like luminous strands, extending upward from each one into the heavenly opening. The best language I have for what I saw is that they looked like living threads of glory.
As I looked upward through the opening, I could see what appeared to be multiple levels of Heaven’s portico rising higher and higher beyond what I could fully perceive. From within it came the most beautiful sound of worship.
The sound itself was extraordinary.
I could hear the worship coming from the stage. I could hear the voices of the congregation. I could hear what seemed to be the intercession and ministry of these heavenly beings. And beyond all of it was another sound descending through the open heaven, a heavenly worship that seemed to fill and surround everything taking place in the room.
There were many distinct layers of sound, yet they moved together in perfect harmony. It was immense and powerful, almost overwhelming in its fullness, yet there was no confusion within it. Every sound belonged. Heaven and earth seemed to be participating in one vast symphony of worship before the Lord.
Around this same time, my wife later told me that during the service she repeatedly heard the words:
“Open Heaven… Open Heaven… Open Heaven…”
followed by:
“Ascend… Ascend… Ascend.”
I had not yet told her what I had seen.
As the encounter began to fade from my sight, Pastor Brian Guerin stepped to the pulpit and began to pray. During that prayer, he referenced the ministering spirits spoken of in Hebrews 1, those whom God sends forth to minister for the sake of those who will inherit salvation.
Hebrews 1:14 (LSB)
“Are they not all ministering spirits, sent to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?”
A couple of weeks later, when Pastor Michael Koulianos came to minister, a member of the pastoral team was lying prostrate on the floor directly beneath the very place where I had seen the open heaven. I believe she had encountered the “hot spot.”
I have carried this encounter quietly.
I rarely share experiences like this beyond my inner circle because they are deeply sacred to me. There are encounters with the Lord that feel almost too holy to place into words, and this has been one of them.
Yet I sensed the Lord reminding me that the eyes of a seer are holy instruments, entrusted to perceive what the Spirit chooses to reveal. What He allows us to see can sometimes be given for the strengthening and encouragement of others, and there are times when obedience requires giving testimony to what has been seen.
So I share this with reverence and gratitude.
There was an open heaven over the house.
Heaven was ministering among His people.
Worship was rising from the earth and worship was pouring down from heaven, meeting together in one glorious sound before the throne of God.
May this testimony encourage everyone who has prayed, worshiped, served, interceded, labored, and prepared a place for His presence.
All the glory to Yeshua.
God is moving.
